Presidents - Biography

Engr. Johnson Adegboyega Adeyoye was born to the family of late Pa Samuel Oladipupo Tinuade Adeyoye and late Mrs. Bolajoko Adeyoye on Sunday, 29th May 1960, at the famous Lagos Island Maternity hospital, in Lagos state. He hails from Igbooye in Epe division of Lagos State.

Engr. Johnson A, Adeyoye is happily married to Engr. Mrs. Aramide Adeyoye, FNSE, FNIStructE, the first female Engineer with the construction conglomerate – Messrs Julius Berger Nigeria Limited, who was a member of the team that constructed the third (3rd) Mainland Bridge in 1990 in Lagos. They have 2 sons, one of who studied Civil Engineering at First degree and Masters level.

Educational Background

Engr. Johnson Adeyoye, for his primary education attended SAINT JUDE’S ANGLICAN PRIMARY SCHOOL, Ebute - Metta, Lagos, from January 1966. While in primary school, he was given double promotion and in December 1971, passed the First School Leaving Certificate examination with distinction. He subsequently gained admission into EKO BOYS’ HIGH School, Mushin, Lagos State in January, 1972 and in June 1976, obtained Distinction and Credit level passes in all the subjects he offered at the West African School Certificate Examination-WAEC.

He was a recipient of Foreign Scholarship award, through the Bureau for external Aid for education, Federal Ministry of Education and attended Moscow Automobile and Highway Engineering Institution (Now, Moscow State Technical University), Moscow, formerly USSR, from September 1978 to June 1984, at the end of which he was awarded the Master of Science (M.Sc) degree in Civil Engineering with specialization in ‘’Bridges and Tunnels’’.

Work Experience

Engr. Johnson A. Adeyoye did his National Youth Service Corps at the Public Works Department, Civil Engineering Division, Federal Capital Development Authority, Abuja from September 1984 to September 1985. He joined the Lagos State Ministry of Works and Transport/Ministry of Environment, Alausa, Ikeja, in January, 1986 to January, 1990 as an EXECUTIVE ENGINEER/SENIOR ENGINEER.

He then had a brief spell at the Federal Ministry of Labour and Productivity, National Directorate of Employment, Lagos State, from February 1990 to June 1996 as a PRINCIPAL/CHIEF ENGINEER.

Engr. Johnson A. Adeyoye returned back to the service of Lagos State Government and became the DIRECTOR, WORKS AND ENGINEERING SERVICES at Adeniran Ogunsanya College of Education. (Now Lagos State University of Education) in February, 2000.

An exposed and well-travelled personality, Engr. Johnson A. Adeyoye has travelled, both in search of knowledge and on vacations, to most parts of the world, namely many countries in Europe – UNITED KINGDOM, ITALY, GERMANY, RUSSIA, POLAND, HUNGARY, OLD YUGOSLAVIA, BELGIUM, FRANCE, AUSTRIA, HOLLAND, UKRAINE, BELLARUSSIA, UNITED ARAB EMIRATES, QATAR, SINGAPORE, UNITED STATES OF AMERICA AND OTHERS.

He has always served in all the executive committees of all the housing estates that he has lived in Lagos State.

He is presently the President- E 76 Group, EKO BOYS’ High School, Mushin, Lagos State.

Engr. Johnson A. Adeyoye is an Anglican, a member of the Anglican Fellowship, ArchBishop Vining Memorial Church Cathedral, AVMCC, GRA, Ikeja, Lagos.
