ANNOUNCES
A 2-DAY TECHNICAL TRAINING
ON

QUALITY CONTROL AND ASSURANCE IN REINFORCED CONCRETE STRUCTURES

INTRODUCTION
Concrete is a composite material of cement, sand and coarse aggregates and requires water to complete both the hydration and the bonding together of the various components. Each of these materials needs to be of good quality and the emerging concrete also good enough to withstand the various forces to be imposed on it. Thus, the need for quality control of both the materials and the finished products is of utmost importance in order to achieve the desired strength. Good quality control will ensure good materials and good workmanship thereby reducing wastages and building collapse.

COURSE CONTENTS:
 An Overview of the Importance of Quality Control in Reinforced Concrete
 Materials & Code Provisions for Quality in Concrete
 Simple Tests to Monitor Quality of Concrete
 Concrete Mix Design: Ready Mix Concrete and Quality Control in Reinforced Concrete
 Strength Tests: Destructive & Non Destructive for Hardened Concrete
FOR WHOM:
Engineers and Technologists in the Ministries, Parastatals, Consultancy and Construction Industry
